I am an active therapist that believes each of us has inherent abilities to heal and live a fuller, more purposeful life. I utilize a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to examine both individual and systemic factors in what brings people into therapy. This also means we look at supports that address body, mind, and spirit.
To me, therapy is an art that requires flexibility, creativity, and the use of intuition. I bring an approach with my clients that emphasizes non-judgment, attunement, and presence. I strive for my practice to be safe and supportive place for all, regardless of who you are or where you’ve been. Throughout the process I am always open to feedback about how things are going and I strive to co-create the experience with clients.
You deserve to bring your whole self into therapy! I make it my business to create a safe and affirming environment where my clients are free to truly be all of who they are without fear of being judged, pathologized, or otherwise feel misunderstood.
I have over 5 years experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds in regards to socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression. I am engaged in continuous consideration of how multiple oppressions (sexism, racism, heterosexism, classism, ableism, sizeism) in the current societal and historical context may be contributing to what’s happening for you.
Settings that I’ve worked and trained within include: eating disorder partial hospitalization programs, outpatient substance use programs, a university counseling center, and a community mental health center. I have held positions from therapist, clinical team lead and supervisor, and clinic coordinator in some of the most admired programs in the region. I bring all my skills and experience in supporting and treating a wide array of issues.
My practice respects all aspects of people including race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexual orientation, social-economic background, age, religion, body shape, size, and ability.
